Not a sermon…just a thought

We may not be able to understand the reason for our chains, but we can always choose the response!

This past Sunday I kicked off a new series at EPIC called PRISON BREAK, which is a four week study through the book of Philippians.  The first message was CHANGE IN CHAINS from Philippians chapter 1.

In chapter 1 the Apostle Paul describes the cause for his chains.

  • Chained by Circumstances (vs. 12-14)
  • Chained by Critics (vs. 15-18)
  • Chained by Christ (vs. 29-30)

Like Paul we all have to battle through chains that are a result from circumstances, critics, and sometimes even Christ.

The reason may be difficult to determine, but the response is always a choice.

As Christians we can choose to do the following when we feel chained by circumstances, critics, or Christ.

  • Choose to Celebrate (vs. 18-21)
  • Choose to Contend (vs. 27-28)
  • Choose to Continue (vs. 25)

We may not be able to understand the reason for our chains, but we can always choose the response.

Not a sermon…just a thought!
